Do you remember this glorious Art Deco house
which we looked at as part of the Rescue Me Please series?
Well, in fabulous news,
the new owners contacted me last week
to let me know that they purchased it on a whim
with the intention of saving & restoring it.
Yippee!
Oh, I do love a happy ending!

What great houses. It would be interesting to see what they do with them. I love that you find all these amazing houses. Great series.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anastasia! I have been having a ball writing this series - so many glorious, but sad houses about that can be rescued. x
DeleteCan't wait to see the results!
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous news and how wonderful for the purchasers. I really believe that there's a great energy in saving sad homes and making them happy again. Love you seeking out these properties too! Annie x.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly it Annie - making them happy again! x
DeleteAwesome news! There will always be people like us who see the endless possibilities of beauty, never minding the time, labor and expense. This is good. xx's
ReplyDeleteYes, and thank goodness for that too!
DeleteAnd oh boy, if one were to count the time, labour and expense....but it is all more than worth it because it is now too expensive to replicate the building quality of these houses for most people's budgets. x
Great news Virginia. I'm especially happy for Art Deco house. Are you involved in renovation? Would be perfect since you already have a plan. It would be the best choice for the new owners.
ReplyDeleteLoved your Rescue series.
Natalie
Hi Natalie! Yes, me too, that was the one I was most expecting to be demolished. No, I don't have anything to do with the renovation - the new owner just contacted me anonymously so I can't even check on progress to report back on Glamour Drops. But hopefully they will contact me again because I think everybody would love to follow the progress.
DeleteDelighted that you have been enjoying the Rescue series. Plenty more to come! x
Whoohooo! Doing my happy tap dance here!! That Art Deco house just spoke to me--do you remember how freaked out I was, afraid that it was going to be demolished? I really hope that the couple that saved it regularly reads your great blog and sees how happy we all are by their good deed! :)
ReplyDeleteLove when these beautiful homes are saved...hope we get to see the renovation!!
