Almost every year since we have been married,
I throw a dinner party for New Year's Eve,
always with a dress up theme.
But this year,
we are doing something quite different.
When the clock strikes midnight,
we will be on board a boat in the bay,
at a soirée for 12,
with the glorious fireworks popping all around us on the river & the city.
There will be platters of chilled oysters...
with saucers of sparkling Champagne.
And the whole of Melbourne will be lit up in gold,
in celebration of the city's origins,
when the precious metal was discovered here in Victorian times,
and an elegant city was born from its wealth.
Buildings will be lit with golden projections of historical images,
and the fireworks will be pink + yellow~gold sparks.
So all that remains now,
is to find something in gold to wear...
Hmm....shouldn't be too hard....

Then I better remember to take my camera, and even more importantly, not to drop it in the water! Haha! Would be just like me to do that! Hope you have a lovely evening too. V xx

ReplyDeleteReally, Virginia? That sounds absolutely fantastic!!! You really do practice what you preach because if that isn't glamorous, then I don't know what is. :)
ReplyDeleteI am sure that at the very least, you already have a gold bag...
Io indosserò degli accessori dorati spero solo che la febbre mi passi!
