Friday Fun :: a view on men and women from 1903...

The perception of men,
as seen by the new emancipated Edwardian woman.

What can one say?

  3. We can say "thank you" to all the beautiful women who fought so hard to be emancipated. They allowed us to live freely and I wish it could be the same in the countries where it is still the Dark Ages for them !

    1. Absolutely and I couldn't agree more. What we take for granted in the west today is such a recent thing, and certainly had it not been for these brave souls (both male and female, I might add) who fought with such determination, we shouldn't live the life which we do.

I hope animal rights will soon follow, and that in a few decades we shall all look back with the same horror as we do upon the slave trade and the restricted rights of western women, especially prior to the Edwardian age. And of course, that our freedoms will one day be enjoyed across the whole world by all women.

    1. Not taken that way at all! I delighted in reading your valuable comment, and please do not ever feel you have to "sanitise" your comments on Glamour Drops. As I always say, this blog is about a conversation: that's the whole point.

But I did feel the satire was worthy of Friday Fun, for it is a snapshot of a world not really all that long ago.

  5. Ooh, I am going to bite my tongue on this one. But also love that hair! Actually, I have been wearing mine a bit in a French Twist as of late, getting tired of the loose top-knot.

    Bon weekend, dear Virginia!

    1. Wow, that is unlike you Heather and I am sad you didn't put in your penny's worth, because it is always worthwhile hearing your point of view.

But as for the hair, oh loving the idea of a french twist. I have been doing the same, weirdly. Now what do you make of that?
