Hello again!

After a few spectacular days in the impossibly beautiful New Zealand,
I have so much to tell you,
but first,
just popping in quickly to say hello & hope you are loving the Christmas season so far.

The whole island was dotted with these magnificent
Pohutukawa or New Zealand Christmas Trees,
emblazoned in a riot of richly red flowers.
Oh they were stunning,
and if I could have only fitted a 6 metre tree in my suitcase,
I would have brought one home!

  1. Glad to hear you're enjoying your trip. Love the LV window display, though I reckon it looks very Hermes-like! Those trees lokk beautiful, isn't it nice to see another country's biodiversity? One of the best bits of travelling!

  2. Hello KL! Yes, thoroughly loved the place - and have come back much more relaxed and revived, ready to pounce into 2012 now. Couldn't agree more - it is the diversity which makes traveling worth while, and especially the biodiversity as you say. Particularly as the world seems to shrink in size with a more global outlook, these differences between countries are what makes them so fun to explore. And perhaps the LV elephant is a gentle poke at the Hermes horse? Mischievous thought! V xx

  8. Such a great point you make about biodiversity, everywhere really does feel so similar nowadays, nature is going to be what revives us through its different species.

  11. Hi Catherine - thank you and welcome to Glamour Drops. It was so impossibly beautiful in New Zealand that it seemed somebody must have painted the scenes! So I would be recommending it. And we didn't even have time to get to the south island - save that for another trip, I hope. V xx

  12. Yes, although Christmas seems to have advanced madly without me being here - so am feeling a little chaotic now! But what would the season be if not for a twirl? V xx
