I'm Thinking about a Carpet of...Paperclips???

Stuck for decent carpet runner for your stairs?
How about a runner made entirely from paperclips?
Made by Netherlands team We Make Carpets,
who might otherwise use pasta or pegs
for their creations,
this temporary runner is quite gorgeous.
From a humble little paperclip,
to a work of art!

  3. Y0u mean all those lessons when I was just playing with paper clips absent mindedly, I should have been doing this instead?

I think it looks absolutely amazing - however not perhaps the most comfortable when walking barefoot (I always do) But art it sure is.

PS: LOVED all the hats from the Melbourne Cup - beautiful:)

    Hello Virginia:
Now this is something totally original. A carpet of elastic bands, maybe, but paper clips....?!!

  6. Hello Anya. Oh, well I guess not. But then some of their other "carpets" are made from clothes pegs and macaroni pasta tubes, so I guess they would be even less comfy in bare feet! Vxx

  7. Hi Jane + Lance. I think a carpet of elastic bands would be amazing - if the carpet layers cut it too short, they could just s t r e t c h it out to fit! Vxx

I've made many things from paper clips but carpet stair runner was not one of them - very intriguing and much more labor intensive than paper clip bracelets!   Look here http://www.kuriositas.com/2011/04/things-to-do-with-paper-clips-when.html  Some are lame (like what I would do) but some are pretty intensive - like the chandelier or the fishing pole jewelry.  Some people are so clever and talented.

Wow, who would have thought a humble paperclip (multiplied) could look so good! Amazing find Virginia! I'll tell the other half to get creative and we can save some pennies on our renovations!!! : )

  13. Oh, I am in hysterics imaging you sitting in the elegant opera, with a lap full of paperclips, busily weaving them all together as the arias soar! Vxx

  14. Ooh...sounds intriguing...will go and check it out Joy. Vxx

  15. Well that would certainly be a more comfortable use for it! (Thinking of all those poor little bare feet on stairs.) And probably more how they envisaged its final resting place, too, I suspect. Vxx

  16. Oh Mel I am so glad you found this post, because I was thinking of you when I wrote it. So it just goes to prove the old adage, there is always more than one way to skin a cat. (Although my 12 year old objects to this saying and tells me off if he hears me utter it. Shhh - don't tell him I said it....) Vxx

  17. It'll keep you busy during the long cold winter months then, Alexis? I got a chuckle out of your comment!  Vxx
