A courtyard to catch the sunshine...

Here's a rather interesting home up for sale in leafy South Yarra,
which is built around a very appealing sun-drenched courtyard.

The raised corridor almost has the feel of a bridge,
linking the old and new sections of the home together.
The "old" bit is this ~ a Victorian villa of beautiful brickwork.
And the "new" bit is here ~ a pavilion extension designed by
Peter Carmichael to maximise sunlight.
The curved ceiling over the dining area creates a sense of drama.
Quite a dramatic house really,
emphasised by the current owner's impressive art collection.

Would you like to live here?

Property: 83 Caroline St, South Yarra

  2. Yes, that's my favourite bit too Kellie. Always love a courtyard, especially one like this with such wonderful textures. Hope your weekend has better sunshine than our crazy Melbourne weather! Oh the rain! V xo
