Christmas Decorating: Day 8: Country Cream

Such a busy time of year,
so Mrs Glamour~Claus thinks we need a holiday in the country,
to celebrate our 8th Day of Christmas Decorating.

Just imagine how much milk those 8 dairy maids would provide~!
All that milk, cream & dairy goodness,
all wrapped up in a
country setting.

So we better have a little Cream Tea for sustenance
before we start on our Country Cream Holiday Decorating.

We'll be needing a wreath for the front door,
so how about this one made from ~ you guessed it ~ milk cartons?
Instructions to DIY the wreath here.

Of course, our colours are those from the dairy...milk white & pale cream.

With a few bits of country elements brought inside for good measure,
like zinc or galvinised milk buckets...
filled with spicily scented pine branches.

Oh, the tree is as pretty as a milkmaid.
Hung with silver cow bells, fluffy little white sheep,
and milk glass ornaments.

We can scatter a few toadstools around too,
because what dairy doesn't have a few toadstools growing in the paddock,
Mrs Glamour~Claus wants to know?
{This cute little set is actually a table and chair arrangement.
Perhaps they could be milking stools?}

White on white is such a calming theme...

The Christmas table is a bevy of creams & whites.
We'll be needing a cream sponge, or an ice cream cake for dessert.

And we better serve a selection of delicious cheeses, too.

Utterly magical to wake up on Christmas morning in this farmhouse.

Gifts can be wrapped in creams & whites,
in cheesecloth preferably.
Instructions to make milk soap wrapped in cheesecloth here.
{I actually used strips of cheesecloth last year for Christmas ribbons.
It was great fun to tear the strips up from a length of fabric,
and create soft wrappings which the cat loved playing with.}

And we can make some of these super~cute gift houses,
simply made from milk cartons & filled with cheese biscuits, perhaps?
Instructions to make them here.

Have you enjoyed our little Christmas holiday on the dairy farm?
Mrs Glamour~Claus feels quite regenerated now
with all that country dairy goodness.
And all fired up ready to go again!

In case you missed the earlier decorating days, you can catch up here.

  10. Hello Melissah! Oh yes me too - just imagine how many wonderful things may be hiding in so many packages, all beautifully wrapped. I think that is the most fun part of Christmas gifts - it is the anticipation more than the actual gift. V xx

  11. Well you know, I rather think you do live that kind of life. At least in outlook, if not in actuality quite absolutely all of the time. But your trips to the theatre and concerts, and your way of seeing things with depth, is absolutely living in the world of glamour drops. V xx
