Beautiful Front Doors

A beautiful front door can reveal much about
the people who live within a space.
They can be grand & majestic,
like these ones in waxed timber.
Or quietly glamorous.
My own front door is painted rose gold,
to make visitors smile.
Double doors are always doubly delicious.
And they create an atmosphere of generosity.
Rustic timber doors suggest "welcome".
While a burst of unexpected colour
creates a surprise.

Do you have a fun or serious front door?

  1. my door now is not especially exciting but my parents have double doors with cut glass. I prefer more rustic looking doors :)

  3. Hi Virginia, I love the doors you are showing, they are gorgeous...ours is wider than your average front door (which is really lovely) and everyone always comments on that...the colour is olivy green...I like it!

    Yours sounds really nice...

  6. The front door(s) is the most important exterior feature of a house and deserves special attention.

  8. A timely post as I'm trying to decide on our new front door - wish I had the space to do something as grand as these. They are wonderful. Your rose gold door is a deight too.

  10. Another obsession we share. I especially love walking around NYC just to see the beautiful classic doors and their brass hardware.
