Australian Interior Design Awards 2011

The winners of this year's Australian
Interior Design Awards were announced on Friday night.
And who took out the coveted
 Residential Interior Design award?
Why, this stunning home that captured so many hearts.
In case you missed it, here is an earlier post about it.
This Federation home, restyled by the
wonderfully talented Hare & Klein,
snaffled the Interior Decoration award.
What interests me most about this styling,
is that it is neither in, nor out, of fashion.
Which means it should stand the test of time,
and remain a beautifully inspiring home
for the owners for many years yet.
The Hospitality Design was won by Bates Smart,
for their imaginative work on Crown Casino.
Love those timber spheres!

    Fashion fades. Style is eternal.

i especially love the 3" counter tops in marble.

i am in agreement with you
    about things remaining timeless.
that {to me} is the signature of truly great design.

  12. The photo showing how the kitchen opens up to the outside terrace is a favourite of mine. Our weather in Australia allows us to live outside most of the year so this terrace is a perfect living space. Amber

  16. I agree the spheres are truly wonderful, and a little bit unexpected in that location, which makes them rather fun.
